General Information

Screening for Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma genitalium infections  is performed using a molecular technique, (NAAT). Specific Endocervical and male urethral transport swabs are required for this test. Urine samples can also be tested utilising specific urine collection kits. These swabs and urine collection kits are available on request from the laboratory.

N.B the urine transport tube fill level must fall between the two black indicator lines otherwise the specimen will be rejected.
