Turnaround Time & Test Repertoire

MPDS is able to offer a range of molecular tests for a range of cancer types. A detailed list of tests, technologies and turnaround times can be found using the link below.

Service users are advised to directly contact the service in instances where a shorter turnaround time is essential for patient management, or where a report has not reached them within the stated turnaround time.

University Hospitals Birmingham medical laboratories at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital are UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited to the ISO 15189:2012 standard. Tests not appearing on the UKAS Schedule of Accreditation currently remain outside of our scope of accreditation. However, these tests have been validated to the same high standard as accredited tests and are performed by the same trained and competent staff.
